Understanding the Civil Litigation Process

Civil litigation is the term used to describe a legal dispute between two people - or more than two in some cases. The parties are usually seeking damages or some specific act to rectify a problem, rather than a criminal sanction. Civil litigation is something that can be quite complex, but it is worth learning about the process, since hearings, tribunals and arbitrations can be a relatively longwinded process.
Civil litigation is a process that requires training and expertise and lawyers that specialise in it tend to be extensively trained in that rather than the process of criminal law.
